Notoriety is a criminal’s level in the underworld. It rises when your character breaks the law, and it gives bonuses. Don’t confuse it with authority: in the game, authority means a prison sentence and tattoos, see Police.
Levels and bonuses
Each level adds to your revenue: separately for selling loot to a Fence and for selling cargo to the Smuggler. Bonus by level:
| Level | To loot revenue | To cargo revenue |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | +0.00 | +0.00 |
| 2 | +0.10 | +0.05 |
| 3 | +0.20 | +0.10 |
| 4 | +0.35 | +0.15 |
| 5 | +0.50 | +0.25 |
High Notoriety brings something else too: a better chance to find extra valuables.
Playing in a group of two immediately gives you Notoriety level 2.
Some cumulative items only fill up from a certain Notoriety level, see Cumulative Items.
